Research on voice recognition in monitoring heart failure
Prof. Hans-Peter Brunner-La Rocca (Dept. of Cardiology) participates in a ground-breaking international study that aims to revolutionize heart failure care through voice recognition technology. Partnering with Clinic Barcelona and other partners such as Noah Labs, the research utilizes AI to detect fluid retention in heart failure patients, potentially preventing hospitalisations. 200 patients will participate in the study, with half undergoing voice recognition testing. With an estimated 240,000 heart failure patients in the Netherlands, it can truly make a difference if the number of hospital visits and prevent admissions can be reduced in this way. For this research, a grant of €1.5 million from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is available.
